Behind the Art

Manfred Rohrer is an artist and illustrator who lives and works in Graz. Like many others, he embarked on his creative journey at a very young age. This early interest in art, design, and creative expression led him to HTBLA Ortwein Graz, where he graduated with a degree in graphic design.

Subsequently, he began studying art history in Graz but soon realized that his true passion lay in being actively artistic and creative himself. After taking some detours, he succeeded in deepening his artistic skills through self-teaching, subsequently working as an artist and illustrator.

From 2012 to 2019, he primarily illustrated for fantasy books and games. In 2019, he started to further develop his style and focus more on his artistic career and personal projects.

His works explore various aspects, including people, animals, nature, human interactions, love, death, and beauty, as well as social, cultural, and political themes. Manfred Rohrer's pieces delve into different subjects and influences—people, animals, nature, life, love, death, and beauty—along with social, cultural, and political themes. The artist creates surreal and graphic images that range from profound and thought-provoking to humorous or dreamy.
